This link is a
collection of photographs about Ryan.
Meet Matt Welkie

Matt in April 2006.

On Saturday,
November 26, 2005, former and current members of Centenary Youth Group
gathered for a ceremony to dedicate a cherry blossom tree purchased in
memory of Ryan. The ceremony involved a scripture reading by Laura
Klugh, a poem written by Alishaa' Phillips, a prayer written by Katelyn
Siegfried, and words of inspiration shared by friends and family.
Each person present had the opportunity to participate in the planting
by adding a shovel of dirt around the tree.

A number of
people
in the area have gotten tattoos as a tribute to Ryan. Here are the
ones that have been photographed so far.

Tom Beene is a
runner who has participated in a number of marathons/races. His
wife put together a quilt from some of the races and Ryan's 1st and 2nd
walks are included on this quilt.

cow which ended up being bought and currently resides in Steelton.

One of Ryan’s
nick names was White Chocolate. One weekend in August 2004, the feature
flavor at Dairy Queen was none other than White Chocolate. This is just
another way of God showing us that Ryan continues to be with us in
spirit.

In July 2008, Coach Andy Hartwick, along with some of his AAU basketball
players and other supporters, spruced up Ryan's playground at Cottage
Hill. This dedicated team painted the building and pavilion,
trimmed trees, and put down new mulch in the play area.

On November 8, 2009, Steve Whittle, a 1969 Steel-High graduate,
participated in the Harrisburg Marathon wearing #9 in remembrance of
Ryan. This was Steve's 9th marathon, having run it in 2003 after
prostate cancer surgery and in 2007 after having hip replacement.
Thank you, Steve, for your dedication to never giving up.
